The movie Mean Girls is an all-time favorite for everyone, but is it appropriate?

Teen related movies usually always have some inappropriate scenes in them such as, underage drinking, foul language, and some strong opinions. While these movies always warn you about these scenes in them, Mean Girls is very popular in the teen category and some parents or caretakers might not look at the movie ratings or reviews.

This should not be a problem for the actual teenagers or adults watching the movie but when it’s a child, things change. Children already have problems with screentime in the earlier years of their life and when a caretaker isn’t paying attention or in the same room as the content inappropriate movies, videos, and TV shows can be exposed to the child when it shouldn’t.

The movie Mean Girls always stays having a good reputation. It’s got humor, real world problems, solving those problems, and relationships with family.

and friends. These problem-solution based movies are always good for everyone to watch, especially children.

But Mean Girls can also be a problem when watching because it has inappropriate scenes for children like
partying, body negativity, cheating on a loved one, bullying, and inappropriate relationships. Some of these problems like bullying, are solved toward the end of the movie. But scenes in underage drinking are never spoken about after it happens.

There is a scene at the end of the movie where the main character Cady, just won her crown for winning spring fling queen (which is the movies high school dance) in this scene Cady gives a speech on the experience she has had with the high school and apologizes for insulting and hurting people during that time, at the end of her speech she starts breaking pieces of her crown off and tossing them to different girls while complementing them. This scene shows kindness and love.
