Let’s face it. Crowed hallways make for a difficult time to see any signs or posters, especially during the club fair. Due to this, finding the right club at the club fair can be difficult. Sure, you hear about the more talked about clubs, but do you know what our school has to offer?

In order to shine more light on some clubs, we interviewed the Crochet Club president, Ruby Bowman. She explained that the Crochet Club was founded to allow crochet lovers time to enjoy their hobby and learn some new techniques along the way. Even though the Crochet Club is brand new, as of last year, it is thriving.

Another reason to love the Crochet Club is that they utilize old t- shirts and plastic bags as yarn material. Ruby claims that they have used these items in the past to create Magic Circles. A magic circle is the most common way to crochet in the round, or a ring shaped circle, and help with items like coasters, potholders, or crocheted hats.

The Crochet Club offers more time for our crocheting hobby lovers. When walking in, you can see one person working on a blanket and another on a sweater. Many choose to continue home projects during their club time, while others choose to learn new techniques, via video or following along with Ms. Harrants projection. So, whether you are working alone or following along, you will have an enjoyable time.

So, if you ever find yourself lost in the chaos of the club fair, and want to get more hands-on with you hobby, bring your yarn and your hooks, and join the club!
