For number one, I would put The Conjuring by James Wan. I will never forget my first time watching this . The Conjuring isn’t only a horror; it’s also a mystery. The Conjuring is mostly about Ed and Lorraine Warren, who investigate paranormal activity. In this movie, they are faced with a case unlike any other, and they feel there something more than just a ghost haunting the poor victims the Perron family. All of Ed and Lorraine’s paranormal adventures are based on a true story from the real Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Coming in at second is Sinister by David Putnam. It’s the story of a writer on the case of a suicide, but not just one, a whole family’s – except one of the children. So to get a better inside on the story, he moves into the house where the suicide happened. Inside the attic, he finds tapes to multiple murders that were all deliberately recorded. He deliberately doesn’t tell the authorities of these tapes because he thinks it will benefit his book.

Third, Host by Rob Savage, it’s extremely underrated in my opinion. It’s the story of a Zoom call gone wrong during lockdown; a group of friends decide to do a demonic summoning on Zoom. This movie is very unknown and underrated, and it’s very interesting how the whole movie is shown on Zoom. Most people would think since it is on Zoom it wouldn’t be scary, yet this movie still provides a good scare factor.

Fourth, Terrifier 2 by Damien Leone, is extremely bloody and has extremes amount of gore. I don’t recommend watching if you don’t like bloody movies. We see Art the clown on his gruesome journeys of killing sprees. Art disguises himself as others to gain trust in his victims, then gruesomely kills them. Art did get killed in the first movie but manages to come back in the second.

Five, The Barbarian by Zach Cregger, is the story of a young woman, Tess, who found a rental home in a very sketchy area. It seems that no one else lives in that area, and the house she’s in appears to be the only one in good condition. The other houses are burned down yet the rental seems to be untouched. When she gets inside the house, she notices that she has a roommate that she didn’t know about. The real trouble occurs when they explore the basement only to find a hidden room, and something is down there.
