Men’s Basketball (Record: 20-14)   

Feb 28: Our Dragons played their last game of the season in a loss to Memphis Overton in the Regional Semifinals, 71-73. In the game, McNeal led with 24, Thompson had 13, and Van had 12. This was a historic season for the Dragons with 20 wins and the first district title since 1991! What a great season! (20-14)

Feb 25: For the frist game in the Regional Tournament, our Dragons put on quite the show, beating Memphis Central 68-60. In that game, Van had 22 points, sophomore Dallas Berkley had 14, and junior Isaiah Tyson has 13. (20-13)

Feb 21: Our Dragons won the District 15-AAAA Championship, 49-38, against Southwind High School. (19-13)

Feb 18: The Dragons picked up their second post season win in the District 15-AAAA Semifinals against Bartlett, 57-54. McNeal led in scoring with 21, Van had 16, and Thompson added 7. (18-13)

Feb 16: For our Dragons first game in the post season game against Cordova, in the District 15-AAAA Tournament Quarter Finals, they won a close one, 64-62. Van led in scoring with 20 points and McNeal and Thompson each added 11. (17-13)

Feb 14: Our Dragons ended the regular season with a loss to MHEA, on Senior Night, 44-61. (16-13)

Feb 11: Our Dragons lost against Germantown 45-57. In the game, Van scored 15 pts, McNeal scored 10, McRae and Thompson each scored 8. (16-12)

Feb 9: The game against Memphis Business Academy has been cancelled. (16-11)

Feb 7: The Dragons pick up second straight loss, 55-71, while hosting Bartlett High School. (15-11)

Feb 3: Sadly, our Dragons lost yet again to our rival Houston, 63-70. This time it was in their home. (15-10)

Jan 31: Dragons game against Germantown was postponed due to weather.

Jan 27: Our Dragons hosted and beat Arlington High School 65-42. Van had 19 points, McNeal had 17, and Thompson added 10. (15-9)

Jan 25: The Dragons got a really good win, 52-49, at Southwind. The game was originally supposed to be on the 24th, but the game got postponed due to a leak in the gym. “Van” led the team in scoring with 17 points, McNeal scored 15, and Antonio Thompson added 8.  (14-9)

Jan 20: The Dragons had another tough overtime loss to Cordova High School, 83-87. The game went to triple overtime. (13-9)

Jan 13: Our Dragons had a tough loss, 56-62, to Houston in Overtime. Vandenbergh led in scoring with 15 and McNeal added 14 and Antonio Thompson scored 9. (13-8) 

Jan 3-5: Once we got back from the tournament, we had two away games to start out the new year. The first one was against Germantown High School where they fell short 46-58. Vandenbergh returned to the lineup and led with 19pts. McNeal added 9. Lussier and McRae had 7 each. Then our Dragons played at Arlington High School and won 58-40. Vandenbergh and McNeal both had 14pts, Lussier added 9, and Sophomore Maxwell Mitchell had 6. (13-7) 

Dec 30: For our Dragons final game in the tournament, we lost 51-62 to O’Fallon (IL). The Dragons were short-handed due to injuries but were led by McNeal in scoring with 20. McRae had 14 and Antonio Thompson added 10. (12-6) 

Dec 29: For game two, our Dragons suffered a tough loss to Quincy High School (IL) 63-48. TJ McNeal led the team in scoring with 12pts and Alex Vandenbergh added 8. Then later that day, our Dragons got another loss 63-47, this time to the host team Collinsville High School (IL) tonight. TJ McNeal led the team in scoring with 25pts. (12-5) 

Dec 28: After a short break for the holidays, our Dragons traveled to Collinsville IL to participate in the Collinsville Holiday Classic. For the first game we picked up a win against Triad (IL) 56-47. Alex Vandenbergh led in scoring with 15 TJ McNeal added 12 and Elijah Lussier chipped in 11. (12-3) 

Dec 20-22: The Dragons had bounce-back win (68-57) vs Wooddale to open the Spartan Invitational Tournament at White Station. Alex Vandenbergh led the team in scoring with 17pts. TJ McNeal added 11 and Cooper McRae and Webb Thomas added 8. Then Dragons picked up another win 61-49 vs White Station in the semi-finals of the Spartan Invitational. TJ McNeal led the team in scoring with 17, Alex Vandenbergh chipped in 16, and Cooper McRae added 8. The championship game for the Spartan Invitational Tournament vs Haywood at White Station was canceled due to travel issues from expected inclement weather. (11-3) 

Dec 16-17: We had two more games before the Chings Spartan Invitational. The first was a home win (51-47) versus Southwind. Then the next day we took a tough loss 48-62 against Horn Lake (MS). In that game, Alex Vandenbergh led the team in scoring with 20 pts. Terrian McNeal added 15 pts. (9-3) 

Dec 13: Then the Dragons picked up a big win, 71-69, in OT over Cordova to open district play. The Dragons were led by McNeal’s 25pts and Vandenbergh’s 22pts and game winning free throws. Lussier also added 12pts. (8-2) 

Dec 8-10: Next, our Dragons participated in the Cabot Christmas Classic, in Cabot Arkansas. In the first of our three games there, we lost a close one, 49-51 to Cabot High School. In that game, Tj Mcneal had 5pts, Dallas Berkley 14pts, and Alex Vandenbergh with 11pts. Then for the second game we played Sheridan, and we showed dominance, winning 59-39. In that game, McNeal and Vandenbergh led the way with 12pts each and Elijah Lussier added 10pts. And for the Dragons final game in the Cabot Classic, they beat Beebe 62-51. In that game, McRae and Vandenbergh each had 14pts to lead the way and Isaiah Tyson added 13pts. (7-2) 

Dec 6: Then we played the 0-4 Kirby Cougars where we had a nice feel-good-win, 72-39, where Cooper McRae had 15pts, BJ Boyce 9pts, and Elijah Lussier, Antonio Thompson, and Tre Dillard each had 8pts. (5-1) 

Dec 2-3: After that we headed on the road to play Briarcrest Christian Academy, where we picked up our first lost 59-68. Then we had a bounce back game against ECS where the Dragons showed their dominance, winning 61-49. (4-1) 

Nov 19: Then we came home to destroy the Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels 76-35. The Dragons were led by Alex Vandenbergh’s 14pts and 5 rebounds and Terrian McNeal’s 12pts and 6 steals. Cooper McRae added 12pts and Elijah Lussier added 11pts. After that, we had another great game against Mitchell, where we won 70-41. Alex Vandenbergh led the way again with 22pts, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Terrian McNeal added 15pts and 5 assists. 3-0) 

Nov 18: For the first game of the season, our Dragons traveled to Somerville to play Fayette Academy where it was an insane blow out 61-19! The Dragons were led in scoring by the 6’8″ wing, Jack Cantrell, who had 13pts, which included 3 threes, guard Terrian McNeal added 12pts with 3 more threes, and Alex Vandenberg added 9pts including 2 monster dunks. (1-0)
