EL PASO, TX — A 40-year-old man is in custody after a deadly shooting in East El Paso set off a high-speed chase that ended in a rollover crash in Horizon City. Police say a 32-year-old man was shot and killed shortly after 6 a.m. in the 1700 block of Charlie Smith Drive.

Investigators with the El Paso Police Department described the case as “family-related.” After 911 calls came in about the shooting, officers responded to the scene and were told that a person had left in a Dodge pickup truck.

The fatal shooting happened in the 1700 block of Charlie Smith Drive, where police arrived after callers reported gunfire. According to investigators, the victim was a 32-year-old man who died at the scene.
