Athlete Spotlight: Hannah Rawie

Many of you might only refer to Hannah Rawie as a down-to-earth soccer player; however, she is a lot more than meets the eye! As the team’s forward, who scores a lot of goals, the sport is something that hits close to home. 

Throughout her childhood, she was interested in cheerleading, yet was later influenced by her friends to play soccer. This happened as she “grew tired of cheerleading.” Alongside the influence of her peers in middle school, which was when she started soccer, her aunt also played. After ditching cheerleading and giving in to the convincing her friends did, her love for the sport kept growing. 

One of her all-time favorite things about soccer is the people you can meet. When asked if she plans on pursuing this sport throughout college, she mentions how if she “didn’t meet the people on [her] club team then [she] probably wouldn’t have gone” to play. She plans on playing during college, alongside studying to become a nurse anesthetist and study pre-med in college. 

Outside of soccer, she enjoys going on runs or going to the gym with her teammates. Although a majority of her time is spent with them, she loves it, as they are her best friends. You may be wondering how she is going to balance her dreams and athletics? She agrees that it will be difficult, but she’s got this
