Are You Ready For It? – Era’s Tour Opening Night

Are You Ready For It? - Eras Tour Opening Night

Keira Williams, Staff Writer

Taylor Swift opened the first concert of the Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona this past weekend. The highly anticipated start of the Eras tour has just begun with twenty-five shows left in the tour.  The Eras Tour, unlike any other Swift tour, is not centered on one album. It is centered around all her albums representing different eras of her life. This massive show included a forty-four song setlist containing songs from each album. Taylor took the stage at 8:05 and her performance lasted for 3 hours and 50 minutes.

Before the concert began fans could be spotted trading friendship bracelets. This new practice at the shows in the Eras Tour comes from the song “You’re on Your Own, Kid” featured on the Midnights album. Swifties could also be spotted in outfits representing an era themselves. Fans were also supplied with interactive wristbands that light up with select songs. Two of the most notable wristband moments were with Bejeweled and Lover.

The stage for the Eras Tour takes up about half a football field, almost double the size of the stage for the Reputations Tour. Taylor decorated this stage with what almost felt like never ending props and amazing effects. The tiles of the stage were practically televisions. This effect made for beautiful scenes during the performance. During one song, Taylor dove into the stage. The tiles made it appear as if she was swimming in a pool underneath the stage. One of the more notable props of the tour was the lover house. The Lover house is basically a doll house with each room representing a different era. Taylor burned the house down, like literally. She burned the Lover house down on stage.

Luckily, many fans attending the concert were able to live stream. The TikTok user Ryan Tso is forever in the hearts of Taylor Swift fans who could not be there in Arizona. His live streams lasted three hours but not consecutively.  Many fans also took pictures and videos to share online. Additionally, Swifties shared tips online to help fans have an even better experience at upcoming shows of the tour. The next show will be in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 25th.  Fans cannot wait to see what Taylor Swift has in store for us next.
